Ms Pirkko-Liis Harkmaa together with the Minister of Social Affairs, Mr Hanno Pevkur and the President of the Estonian Trade Union Confederation, Mr Harri Taliga, was a speaker at the expert discussion panel related to the new Estonian employment contract act

The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Mr Hanno Pevkur, the President of the Estonian Trade Union Confederation, Mr Harri Taliga and Ms Pirkko-Liis Harkmaa, Attorney at Law and Head of the Employment and Labour practice at Lepik & Luhaäär LAWIN were panelists at the expert discussion over the new Estonian employment contract act. The event was organised by the American Chamber of Commerce Estonia in order to find out how the new labour legislation affects companies, what kind of changes are accompanied and which are the consequences.

The Minister of Social Affairs, Mr Hanno Pevkur, in his delivered presentation highlighted the most significant issues related to the new employment contracts act and shared his ideas on the topic. Mr Harri Taliga expressed the employees’ concerns about the legislation changes and Ms Pirkko-Liis Harkmaa gave an expert evaluation on the new act from the practical side. The open questions and answers section following the speakers’ panel brought various questions about the different aspects of the changes that will take place starting of July 1st and turned into a very informative and active discussion on the topic.
